Thank you for the time, effort, and sacrifice you and your family has contributed to this noble cause. You are truly a blessing to our community. We appreciate all that you do! Charmin Henry, Henrico County Neighbor & Donor
We had such an amazing time at our distribution on September 24!
We served a very diverse community and everyone went home knowing they filled their pantry. We are so thankful to our food driver sponsors - Lions International and Elevance, Guruparivar, Alpha Phi Alpha - Xi Delta Lambda Chapter, Ridge Baptist Church and the many community donors. Volunteer support from Elevance, Alpha Gamma Delta Heart of Virginia , Bharathi Yoga, Tutor Tots and HCFB team ensured a seamless food distribution.
We look forward to working with you again!
Cheers to another successful distribution!
38 volunteers, 168 hours, over 2000 pounds of food collected, multiple new partnerships - and one great day!
We handed out over 100 bags packed bags of canned goods along with squash, eggplant, tomato and assorted greens to residents of the Carter Woods Senior Community, Saturday, July 16. We delivered bags of groceries to residents who couldn't make it to the distribution and left bags onsite to help with subsequent needs. The Virginia Cooperative Extension - Henrico County and the Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services were our resource partners this time offering information to residents. We also discovered 2 intensely competitive delivery teams! And, the weather cooperated for once!
Our fabulous HCFB tribe came together like never before despite summer holidays and vacations to once again to support and make a difference in our community. Thank you to everyone for bringing to fruition another impactful distribution!
Mark your calendars for the next distribution scheduled for September 24!
Over 3000 pounds of canned goods, 1000 pounds of fresh fruit vegetables, dried fruit, nuts and condiments were distributed along with books, and various community resources on May 7.
The weather held off for most part, the community came out and a great time was had by all.
Thank you to everyone for bringing HCFB's 2nd food distribution to fruition.
...the HCFB Youth Corp began their journey and worked together to make a change in our community. These passionate, energetic, and creative youngsters engaged with their Henrico neighbors and raised awareness for the Winter Break Food Drive. They spent hours every weekend, knocking on doors, talking to friends and family, asking for support for their drive. By 12/17/2021, 6160 pounds were collected and packed in reusable bags to give families.
420 individuals were served at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center on 12/18/2021.
They may be pint sized but they can pack a punch!
Thank you to Kroger, Mondelez, Feed More, and all the volunteers for their donations and support which helped make this event possible.
HCFB partnered with Glen Lea Elementary School in Henrico to provide much needed items to over 450 students (150 headphones, 40+ cans of sanitizing wipes, and 600 masks!)
